The Art of Rest

A Women's Day Retreat

As winter gives way to spring, gift yourself a full day to slow down, restore your energy, and reconnect with yourself on the peaceful land of a luxurious hinterland sanctuary.

Surrounded by trees, birdsong and a community of like-minded women, you'll be guided through a carefully curated day of nourishing practices designed to support deep rest & renewal from the inside out.

Saturday 29th August

Federal, Northern NSW

10am - 6pm

Imagine...

Driving into the Byron Hinterland on a crisp Saturday morning.

For the first time in a long time, you have cleared an entire day just for yourself.

After constantly giving, caring, doing, and holding space for others, you've decided to give something back to you.

The trees rustle in the breeze and the winter sunlight filters through the branches, softly landing on your face. As you wind your way through the green trees and hills, you feel yourself taking a deeper breath. The noise, responsibilities, and endless to-do lists of everyday life begin to fade into the background. Today is just for you.

As you arrive at our beautiful hinterland sanctuary, you're greeted by towering old trees, birdsong, and fresh country air. There is an immediate sense of exhale.

A warm cup of chai awaits your arrival as you settle into a day devoted to rest, nourishment, and reconnection.

There is nowhere else you need to be.

What You'll Experience

We begin with a slow and grounding yoga, pranayama and meditation  practice on the deck, overlooking the treetops and the distant ocean. The winter sun warms your skin while the birds sing their sweet songs around you.

A nourishing Ayurvedic lunch prepared by a private chef is shared together, either around the large communal table or in a quiet corner if solitude is what your soul is craving.

After lunch, there is space to simply be.

Rest beneath the trees. Lay in the grass. Curl up beside the fire. Soak in the winter sunshine by the pool. Journal, reflect, or connect with new yogi friends. This is your time. Nowhere to be and nothing to do.

Together, we will explore the wisdom of Ayurveda through a seasonal workshop, learning how to support your energy, vitality, and wellbeing as we transition from winter into spring.

As the afternoon unfolds, you'll be guided through a deeply nourishing Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra practice, inviting the body and nervous system into profound rest.

There will be time integrate and settle before we gather as a group for kirtan, allowing the medicine of music, mantra and community to open the heart.

As the sun begins to set, we will share a warm and nourishing Ayurvedic dinner, lovingly prepared to support digestion, grounding and seasonal balance.

We will close the day with a fire ceremony, honouring the transition from winter into spring. Together, we will release what feels heavy, stagnant, or complete, creating space to step into the season ahead with greater lightness & vitality.

Why Seasonal Transition Matters

In Ayurveda, the changing of the seasons is a sacred time of transition. As nature shifts, so do we.

The transition from winter into spring is a time of awakening. A time to gently release the heaviness of winter and create space for renewed energy, clarity and growth.

When we take time to slow down and align with these natural rhythms, we create the foundations for greater balance & vitality.

This retreat is an opportunity to honour that seasonal shift consciously, supporting both body and mind as we move from the stillness of winter into the blossoming energy of spring.

Your Host: Katie Gardner

Katie is a yoga and meditation teacher, Ayurvedic

consultant, and is devoted to creating calm,

spacious environments where her students can

return to their centre and reconnect with them

selves.

Ayurveda is an ancient holistic health system that

teaches us how to live in harmony with nature,

supporting abundant energy, health and vitality

through every season of life.

Often, yoga is practised as a stand-alone modality,

but yoga and Ayurveda are sister sciences that

work beautifully together.  They offer a holistic way

to cultivate balance and inner harmony by

moving with the laws of nature- rather than against it.

The Art of Rest  is a day to slow down, honour the

seasonal shift from winter to spring and start living in

harmony with both your inner and outer nature . Inviting

deep rest, nourishment and reconnection so you can bloom

into the season ahead with presence and vitality.
